House has been meticulously preserved to keep its early-1900s atmosphere and is free from any artificial or rubbishy-looking `1970s upgrades` or open-floorplan stuff that would only break the vintage character of the property. Original wooden flooring throughout: these luckily happened to be kept under carpets or paper and vinyl coverings and, therefore, survived in excellent condition! Image #4 demonstrates what we have been able to do with some of the floors in sample rooms already, so you can get your imagination going... We suggest overall removal of those coverings in the course of necessary renovations or upgrades done by the new owners to their own specifications: that way, you enjoy complete freedom in upgrading to your own tastes upon moving in, and preserving original features that are worth keeping. (Having done several Swedish wooden houses over the years, we`d also be happy to offer advice, if interested.)

The entire outside of the house has already been restored, with wood repairs done where necessary along outside walls and gables, freshly treated with eco-friendly oils and painted with red iron-powder classical linseed-oil facade paint (and white linseed-painted lists and corner sills), all compliant with historic-building best practice. Equally, most parts of the storage-outbuilding facades. Preparations, floors and some piping laid for a spa and perhaps an additional qym room and separate guest suite in the outbuilding. Landscaping work and leveling have been completed around buildings and below in field portion.

We also added a 50-m well that`s pressure-drilled through the lower granite layers you find everywhere in this area. The well is equipped with a Grundfoss high-power pump and has been found to have an industrial-strength capacity cascading out in excess of 2,000 litres/hr of excellent, untreated (as in chemicals-free) drinking water!

Speaking of location, do note that the giant lake -- Lake Vaner or `Vänern` (swed.), Europe`s second-larges body of freshwater -- is just about 1.5 km down the gravel lane, offering sailing/motorboating, fishing and canoeing second to none as well as swimming, simply relaxing down by the water and much more! (There`s a handful of private moorings 1.5 mi and 2.3 mi from the house respectively, max. draft in berths has been found to be 4 ft (1.2 m) or more year round, with several berths available.)
